The precious ‘last drops’ of some of the oldest and most perfect spirits in existence are sought out. It is not surprising that the quest is not always successful; not all spirits age well and too long in wood can ruin a fine spirit. Occasionally all the elements – original distillate, type of wood, the right climate for storage – combine to produce an unlikely miracle.
